Main Beach, also called Ogunquit Beach, is a long stretch of white sandy beach. Rated in the "top 10 beaches in the U.S.", Ogunquit Beach runs along the coastline for three miles and can be accessed by three main entrances. Main Beach, off Beach Street in Ogunquit's "downtown", Footbridge Beach located off Ocean Street and North Beach accessed via Bourne Avenue in Wells. Each entrance has parking and rest rooms and the Ogunquit Trolley services the Main Beach and Footbridge Beach.

Millions of visitors have walked the Marginal Way, a scenic cliff-walk that meanders along the ocean for over a mile. Take a stroll past the perfectly manicured Ogunquit oceanfront properties with sweeping vistas from Ogunquit Beach north to Wells and Kennebunk.

Galleries, museums and theatres abound, Ogunquit offers a variety of cultural activities. The Ogunquit Museum of American Art was founded by Lost Generation artist Henry Strater and opened in 1953. OMAA is closely tied to one of the earliest art colonies of the American modernist era and honors Strater’s vision to preserve and showcase American art by mounting innovative modern and contemporary exhibition programs from May through October.

See a Broadway show at John Lane's Ogunquit Playhouse, one of Southern Maine's most important cultural landmarks, bringing Broadway to the Beach each season. Opened in 1933, the work and vision of Walter and Maude Hartwig brought an outstanding, star-studded performing arts company to Ogunquit. Continuing this tradition, the Ogunquit Playhouse continuously provides audiences with the finest professional theatre in our region, placing itself on the national cultural map.
